Elmer’s Great North Parade sponsors, artists and St Oswald’s VIPs were invited to an exclusive sponsor event hosted in the Q12 Building at Quorum Business Park. All 50 of the large trail sculptures were on display. Guest speakers included James Ellam, Chief Executive at St Oswald’s Hospice, Charlie Langhorne, Managing Director at Wild at Art and Tobyn Hughes, Managing Director at Nexus and Paul Black from Anderson press, representing the Elmer Book’s publishers. Elmer artists in attendance included local celebrity, Alfie Joey, Artist and Homeware Gift designer Corrine Lewis Ward from Powder Butterfly and Illustrator Bethan Laker. Events and Sustainability Manager, Laura McGrath was delighted to offer all the Elmer’s a great send off! ‘Like the Snow dogs before them, the Elmer’s will always hold a special place in our hearts here at Quorum. We’ve seen the sculptures arrive as white blank canvas and then transform into works of art from our studio in the Light Box. We feel very privileged to have been part of the Elmer journey and hope the trail is a roaring success. We’re very fond of the elephants so hope trail visitors take good care of them, and #ProtecttheHerd and don’t sit on them’ You can find out more about Elmer’s Great North Parade on their website here: https://www.stoswaldsuk.org/elmer/ and download a map to complete the trail.
